Social Listening Findings Q3 2025 2gether 4 SRHR

This Q3 quarterly social listening and community insights study covers 3 months of data between July to September 2025 across the ESA region in 5 languages (English, Portuguese, French, Arabic and Swahili).

The insights are used to inform 2gether 4 SRHR communications and programme strategies.

While youth- and survivor-led efforts gained traction, institutional mistrust, traditional remedies, and misinformation remained significant challenges.

Trends

  1.  Sexual violence & justice gaps: High engagement followed rape and defilement cases in South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, with calls for legal reform and survivor support.
  2. Menstrual and mental health: Narratives highlighted dignity, male engagement, policy advocacy, and emotional well-being, with strong momentum in Uganda, Zambia, and Kenya.
  3. Disease prevention: STI and HIV prevention posts promoted PrEP, condom use, and clinical education; however, traditional remedies and funding cuts raised concerns.

Please note this synthesis of what is trending on social media does not necessarily reflect UNICEF views.
